How to Buy The Best Multivitamins

Purchasing multivitamins is not a task for the faint of heart... not if you are looking to buy the best.
However, with a little research and a bit of discernment, a health-conscious individual can make a wise choice.
Through the process of elimination, we can choose a top-quality product by honestly answering the following questions:

1. Why do we really need vitamin  ?
According to Dr. Earl Mindell, one of the world's most prominent nutritionists:
"Diet alone cannot supply the amount of nutrients our bodies need, so a daily multivitamin supplement is necessary to reach optimal health. But not all supplements are created equally; so consumers need to pay attention and choose the best multivitamin available for their health needs."
2. Is synthetic just as good as natural?
Synthetic products can do more harm than good.
They are far less effective than they are promoted to be.
There are numerous negative health repercussions from synthetic supplements.
Our bodies are meant to digest food found in nature.
Synthetic supplements are chemical compounds that cannot be found in nature.
Therefore, our bodies do not recognize these synthetic ingredients and they can result in unanticipated negative reactions.
Our bodies recognize the difference between natural and artificial and they always prefer natural.
3. What is the difference between natural, all-natural, and organic supplements made from whole food sources?
If a product is labeled as either "natural" or "all-natural," we might assume that the product "does not contain added color, artificial flavors or synthetic substances."
However, this may or may not be true.
It is easy to find the words "natural" or "all-natural" on foods, drinks, and yes even nutritional supplements that are jam-packed with artificial coloring, flavoring, preservatives, and a whole slew of other chemically derived additives.
Food processing has changed, and so has food labeling.
What was once not labeled as natural in the past may or may not be labeled as natural today.
As an example, blueberry bagels, muffins, or cereals are sometimes labeled "naturally flavored," even though they do not contain any blueberries.
So even though multivitamins may say natural or even all-natural on the label, that may or may not mean that they are free of synthetic additives.
Organic supplements, on the other hand, are made from whole food sources.
They come from vegetables and fruits grown in mineral-rich soil without synthetic chemicals, pesticides, preservatives, or additives of any kind.
This nutrient-rich non-toxic produce is made into supplements that are designed to target the nutritional needs of the body.
Tomatoes are an excellent source of Vitamin C and E.
However, to get all the Vitamin C and E your body needs, you would have to eat between 10 to 12 big tomatoes every day.
A whole food supplement may take a dozen tomatoes, dry them out, turn them into powder, then compress everything into an easy-to-swallow capsule.
Whole food organic multivitamins come from 100% all-natural food sources.
They contain the entire complex of vitamins and minerals as well as all the micro-nutrients and synergistic factors found in nature.
These are necessary for the vitamin or mineral to complete its action in your body.
The vitamins found inside of these supplements are not isolated.
They are complex structures that combine a variety of enzymes, co-enzymes, antioxidants, and trace elements all working in harmony to enable this vitamin complex to do its work in the human body.
4. How do we determine if one brand is better than another brand?
Everything else being equal, natural is better than synthetic.
All-natural is better than natural.
Products made from organic ingredients are better than all-natural products.
And the best products say organic on the label, meaning they are at least 95% organic.
Only products that are at least 95% organic can carry the USDA Organic label.
5. Does the manufacturer offer a money-back guarantee?
If a nutritional supplement is top quality, it will probably offer a money-back guarantee.
Ask before you buy.
Summary
So yes, we do need multivitamins for optimal health because it is almost impossible to get all the nutrients we need from our diet alone.
And the best multivitamin is made from organic whole food sources.
Look for the USDA Organic label.
